Situated in the heart of Hamilton Central, these brand-new residential apartment blocks on Victoria Street comprise 15 modern units. Separated into three blocks, Block A: five two-storied units. Block B: two two-storied and three three-storied, lastly Block C: five three-storied with river views.
Sonya Lee, Director of Lee Roofing, engaged Lobell to construct 15 units within Hamilton City. The contract was tendered to two other contractors, all of whom were competitive in both pricing and track record. However, it was Lobell’s strong existing relationship with Sonya and her confidence in the team’s proven work ethic that ultimately secured the project.

Demolition works such as the removal of two houses had already been completed before Lobell commenced.

Unfortunately due to the Covid19 Lockdown in 2021, all work including construction was forced to follow the mandate and shut down for a total of two weeks. This caused much pressure and added stress to the both Lobell and client to stay on schedule and meet the completion date.


Lobell worked extremely hard with the effects of Covid in full swing Many of our staff and subcontractors having to take time off (7 days) if covid positive. Despite this, Lobell communicated with the client, more frequently, gathered fortnightly in-house to work on effective contingency plans, pinpoint areas that needed the most attention and met with subcontractors also affected and coordinated their schedule of work with our programme to ensure work was completed on time.
Site works included a major palisade wall, other retaining walls and fencing. The stormwater drainage was a large soakage system with overflow bubble up chambers laid beneath the concrete ROW. With a ROW of approx., 675m2 (requiring detailed contouring), a total of 15 apartments, 100lm of pool style fencing plus electric gates with swipe card entry / intercom, three retaining walls, one large palisade wall, and 491m2 and of landscaping the siteworks alone was a great project.



Achieving Code of compliance in June 2022, the building was successfully handed over to the client with all the necessary paperwork.
